Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 22, 2026
FixCode Guide is a static website of appliance repair guides. There are no user accounts or comment sections. The only form is the optional “Request a fix” form described below. This page explains, in plain language, what information may be collected when you visit.
Information we collect
We only collect personal information you choose to send through the “Request a fix” form. The site does not use its own analytics or tracking scripts.
“Ask Rosie” chat
The Ask Rosie chat runs entirely in your browser. It matches what you type against our own guides on your device and does not send or store what you type. Only the “Request a fix” form, if you choose to submit it, is sent to Netlify (see below).
“Request a fix” form
If you use the form on our home page, you send us your email address, the problem you describe, and, if you choose, your appliance brand and model. These submissions are received and stored by Netlify Forms, our host’s form service, under Netlify’s privacy policy. Netlify may also record technical details with a submission, such as your IP address.
We use this information only to email you when a guide for your problem is posted and to decide which guides to write next. We do not sell or share your email, and we don’t add you to a newsletter. To have your submission deleted, reply to any email we send you and ask to be removed.
Hosting (Netlify)
The site is hosted by Netlify. Like most web hosts, Netlify may automatically log standard server data when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested. This is handled under Netlify’s privacy policy.
Google Search Console
We use Google Search Console to see how the site appears in Google search results (for example, which searches lead to our pages). Search Console does not add any tracking script to this site; it reports aggregated search data collected by Google.
Affiliate links and cookies
Some links to parts retailers (such as RepairClinic, PartSelect, AppliancePartsPros or Amazon) may be affiliate links. If you click one, that retailer or its affiliate network may set cookies in your browser so a resulting purchase can be credited to FixCode Guide. Those cookies are controlled by the retailer or network under their own privacy policies, not by us. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
Embedded YouTube videos
Guide pages embed YouTube videos using YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). The videos load lazily, but when you play a video, YouTube/Google may set cookies or collect data, such as your IP address and viewing information, under Google’s privacy policy. We do not control that data.
Children
This site is a general-audience repair resource and does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date above.
